Location: Harrogate, North Yorkshire
Work Schedule: Monday - Friday – 37hrs
Labcorp is seeking a Senior Immunohistochemistry Scientist to join our team at Harrogate, North Yorkshire. The Senior Immunohistochemistry Scientist will work within our modern purpose-built Histology department, where you will play a key role within the Specialty Pathology Services group.

Labcorp is seeking a Senior Immunohistochemistry Scientist to join our team at Harrogate, North Yorkshire. The Senior Immunohistochemistry Scientist will work within our modern purpose-built Histology department, where you will play a key role within the Specialty Pathology Services group.
Job Responsibilities
- Cryotomy of frozen tissues using the latest motorised cryostats
- Immunohistochemical staining using a combination of methods and processes
- Empirical staining of tissue sections using a range of techniques
- The development and use of anatomy skills to identify and trim tissue samples from a range of animal species
- Microscopic quality control of tissue sections
- Immunohistochemistry method development and project management
- Precise labelling of samples and accurate recording of data
- Undertaking cross-training initiatives within other areas across Safety Assessment
Minimum Qualifications
- Degree in Biomedical Science, Biology, Chemistry, Biochemistry, Biological Sciences, Biotechnology or Biosciences
Additional Job Standards
- Proficient in Immunohistochemistry method development and project management
- Adherence to GLP (Good Laboratory Practice regulations)
- Have a target-orientated outlook, suited to working within a fast-paced, production-intensive environment
- Training will be provided, we welcome immunohistochemistry experience
- Demonstrates excellent written and verbal communication, time management and organisational skills with the ability to manage multiple studies
- Attention to detail and consistent accuracy whilst managing multiple changing priorities
- The role may involve periods of lifting, pushing and pulling of equipment
- Once trained, the job may involve working overtime, which could be weekdays, weekends, bank holidays and may be part of the on-call rota
