Junior Motion Graphic designer
Random42 is looking for a talented Junior Motion Graphic designer with exceptional attention to detail and a strong portfolio to demonstrate their work. This role is ideal for someone passionate about visual storytelling, animation and digital media, who is eager to grow their skills in a fast paced creative environment.
Working closely with the 2D Graphics Director, you will support the graphics team in producing engaging motion graphics for a variety of platforms including social media, websites and video content.

Working hours
Our standard working hours are Monday – Friday 10:00 – 18:00 (35 hours per week plus one-hour unpaid lunch break per day). Unless otherwise specified, these will be the contracted hours for the role.

Key responsibilities
- Assist in creating motion graphics, animations, and visual effects for digital platforms.
- Collaborate with designers and the science team to deliver creative assets.
- Support in the development of storyboards/animation concepts and slide deck presentations.
- Ensure brand consistency across all motion and video outputs.
- Manage multiple projects and meet deadlines in a dynamic environment.
- Stay updated with industry trends, tools, and best practices.
Essential Software Skills
- After Effects
- Photoshop
- Illustrator
- InDesign
- Premiere Pro
The Successful Candidate Should have
- Excellent understanding of typography, imagery, colour and layout design.
- A balanced and diverse portfolio of work that demonstrates different techniques of motion design and animation and be technically proficient across different skills within motion design.
- Strong organisational skills and ability to prioritise.
- Excellent communication skills.
- Ability to work excellently under pressure and to tight deadlines.
- Able to react positively to feedback from clients
- Meticulous attention to detail and ability to provide finished assets that adhere to brand guidelines and technical requirements.
- Diligent.
- Eager and ready to learn.
